GoCal Garage Privacy Policy

Introduction

GoCal Garage is a Chrome extension developed by Ballyrobert Technologies to provide scheduling, workshop management, customer communication, and Google Calendar enhancement features for garages and workshops.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When contacting support or communicating with us, GoCal Garage may collect information you voluntarily provide, including:

• Name
• Email address
• Support request details
• Any information included within your message

This information is collected only when submitted directly by you.

Extension Settings and Usage Data

GoCal Garage stores extension settings and configuration information required for its functionality. This may include:

• Feature preferences and settings
• Calendar display and customisation options
• Licensing and subscription status information
• Messaging credit and feature configuration data where applicable

This information is stored locally within your browser and/or securely on Ballyrobert Technologies servers where required to operate licensed features.

Google Calendar Access

Where enabled by the user, GoCal Garage may access specific calendars within your Google Account solely to provide the extension features requested by you.

This access may be used to:

• Automatically create MOT reminders within a selected calendar
• Process relevant calendar events, such as MOT reminders, to send customer communications
• Add communication logs to calendar events when customer communications are sent
• Identify the calendars available within your Google Account

Google Calendar and related Google Account data are accessed only when necessary to provide, maintain, and support GoCal Garage functionality. Calendar information entered, created, or updated through the extension is stored within your Google Calendar account and is not permanently stored on our servers.

GoCal Garage does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Google Calendar data is not shared with third parties for unrelated purposes. Where necessary to provide a feature requested by you, limited information may be securely transmitted to an appropriate service provider. For example, a vehicle registration number may be submitted to a vehicle data service to retrieve vehicle or MOT information, and customer contact details may be submitted to a messaging provider when you request that a communication be sent.

Google Contacts Access

Where enabled by the user, GoCal Garage may access Google Contacts to provide contact lookup, contact creation, and customer management features.

Google Contacts data may be securely processed by our servers solely to populate the contacts integration and is not permanently stored on our servers. Relevant contact data may be cached locally within the extension to improve performance and provide its features.

Ballyrobert Technologies does not permanently store or maintain a server-side contact database of users' Google Contacts data. Contact information is used solely to provide the requested extension functionality and is not sold, shared with third parties for unrelated purposes, or used for advertising.

Messaging Features

Where SMS or WhatsApp messaging services are used, relevant information necessary to send messages may be processed, including:

• Recipient contact information
• Message content
• Message delivery status

Messaging information is processed solely to provide communication features requested by the user.

Server Communication

GoCal Garage may communicate with Ballyrobert Technologies servers, including:

• Licensing validation
• Subscription management
• Feature configuration
• Google Contacts authorisation, lookup, and synchronisation
• Accessing configured Google Calendar events for automation and messaging features
• Vehicle and MOT information lookups using registration numbers
• Messaging services
• Service maintenance and security

Server communication is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and is limited to what is reasonably necessary for extension functionality.

How Information Is Used

Information collected may be used to:

• Provide and maintain GoCal Garage features
• Respond to support requests
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Validate licensing and subscription status
• Improve extension reliability and functionality
• Communicate important service or support updates

Data Sharing

GoCal Garage does not sell personal information or Google user data.

Depending on the features used, information may be shared with or processed by:

• Google, for Google Calendar, Google Contacts, and account authorisation services
• Vehicle and MOT information services used to complete registration lookups
• SMS or WhatsApp providers used to deliver messages requested or configured by the user
• Payment and subscription providers used to process purchases and manage subscriptions
• Hosting and infrastructure providers necessary to operate Ballyrobert Technologies services
• Comply with legal obligations
• Protect the security, integrity, or rights of GoCal Garage, Ballyrobert Technologies, or its users

Data Retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Retention may include:

• Extension settings and cached contacts stored in Chrome until cleared or the extension is removed
• Google OAuth refresh tokens stored while the Contacts connection remains active
• Licensing, subscription, payment, and messaging records retained for operational and legal requirements
• Support communications retained to provide support and maintain request history

Users may request deletion of applicable server-held personal data by contacting support@ballyrobert.org. Some records may be retained where required by law, for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or security.

Data Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

However, no online service or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your Choices and Rights

You may contact Ballyrobert Technologies to:

• Ask questions about your information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of information where applicable
• Request support regarding privacy concerns

Google API Services Disclosure

GoCal Garage's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy. The use of information received from Google APIs will also adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in functionality, legal requirements, or service improvements. Updated versions will be published with a revised "Last Updated" date.
